Social Media has become an indispensable part of our life. Sharing information, ideas, and creatives have become more comfortable with social networks. According to the recent social media statistics, “There are 3.5 billion active social media users.” This clearly states the increasing scope of Social Media interaction and connectivity.

Posting any random thing on social media is very easy. But, if you are serious about growing your page, then you should strategically plan your social media calendar and be able to make atleast a few posts in a day.

If you are a beginner, then today in this article I will be sharing some do’s and don’ts of social media that you would love to follow, especially when you want to grow your brand using social media pages without making any silly mistakes.

Let’s begin!

Don’t Use Auto Likers or Similar tools

Are you still using auto likers or similar tools to increase the number of likes or followers? If yes, then you should know that it is a pretty old thing. Including auto likers in your plan can land you into huge trouble as you are just about to consider spam or black hat technique for more reach.

Nowadays, all social media platforms are smart enough to detect fake likes and followers. Apart from that, you must know your account can be permanently blocked without any prior notice.

If you want your brand to grow and outshine, then I will advise you to stay away from any tactics or people that promise to give you thousands of likes or followers instantly.

Don’t Focus On All Social Media Networks

It is good to make your presence everywhere, but it would be a smart decision if you focus on 2 or 3 platforms seriously. It is crucial to understand which platform suits your business type the most.

Every available social media platforms have their advantages and disadvantages. For instance, if you have an e-commerce business, then you can leverage social platforms like Pinterest or Instagram for conversions. Also, having a presence on networks like LinkedIn might not help you too much (Depending upon the product).

It requires really a high level of creativity and understanding to make the right use of all major social media platforms because every social media network has its own template and algorithms.

If you have a good team, then you can try every social media and check what works best for your brand. If not, then begin your journey with your best social media platform that you like the most.

Don’t Bombard Your Page with Links

If you have a website, then it is natural that you will try to post every blog or service link on your social media to get more traffic to the site. Well, there is nothing wrong with that, but if you always post links, then you might start losing the trust of your followers.

Not everyone likes to click on links every time until and unless they find something exciting or worth it. To make your page more appealing to your followers, you must consider posting images, gifs, facts, tips, and videos relevant to your niche.

Do Reply to Every Comment & Message

It is one of the most recommended advice by top social experts. If you are not replying to comments and messages, then you are failing to establish a good relationship with your followers.

It is also a fact that at one point in time, you will be not able to reply to all messages and comments, and this happens when you have a good number of followers and likes. I recommend that instead of avoiding them try to spare some time and make reply to comments and messages as much as possible.

Responding to follower’s activities will not just help you to establish a better bond, but also help you to increase your page visibility. Make a note that all your followers are not able to see your page posts in real-time, and one of the most prominent examples for this is Facebook.

Do Maintain the Same Identity across All Networks

Here, I am not pointing the brand name because you obviously keep it the same across all networks. I am talking about the brand identity that you use while sharing information with your network. It could be anything depending on the type of social network you are using, for instance, branded hashtags, a specific color, background, logo in images, etc.

Having the same identity helps your existing followers to recognize you easily. Moreover, if you want them to follow you on other social platforms, make sure to post the content accordingly. If you post the same content everywhere, then there is no reason they follow you. Plan a different strategy for each social platform and give them a reason to follow your page or brand.

Do Give Credit or Mention

Sometimes it is challenging to come up with relevant content and to fulfill the gap; we generally choose to share other pages content. When you do the same, make sure to give proper credits to the real owner of a particular post.

Giving credits and mentions have lots of benefits. It will help you to establish a better relationship with people. Apart from that, when your followers notice that you are giving credits and mentions, they don’t hesitate to send you recommendations and their content, which ultimately shows how much you care about your network.
